Public Telephone
The nearest TELEPHONE BOX is on Dreemskerry Road. Walk up the lane from Port Mooar, turn left at the top of the lane and walk along the road until you come to a right turn. The telephone box is 500m up the road on the right. |
Post Box
The nearest POST BOX is in Maughold Village. It is set in the wall of the pink house as you turn towards Ramsey. Post collection times are: 5:15pm Monday-Friday 11:00 on Saturdays. The nearest POST OFFICE is in Ramsey town at Court Row. All postal services are available 6 days a week, including MoneyGram if the banks are closed. |
Banking
The nearest Banks are in Ramsey town in various places. HSBC LLOYDS TSB BARCLAYS ISLE OF MAN BANK part of RBS) All have branches operating normal banking hours. NO Saturday Banking is available in Ramsey. |
Your Wardrobe
In your wardrobe, you will find: An extra blanket or duvet should you feel cold There are also extra pillows to be found For use on the beach there are some large towels. Please do NOT use the towels left on your beds as beach towels. Hairdryers There are two hairdryers for you to use; One in the cream chest of drawers in the bedroom with the en-suite shower room. One is in middle drawer of the dressing table which is part of the wardrobe in the other double bedroom. Books
Please feel free to read any of the books which you find at “Beach Cottage”. You can find these books above the Toy Cupboard and on the windowsill in the Patio room. If you finish your own book and start one of ours when your stay ends take home with you, but replace it with one of yours. Obviously if it is a book about the Island we would prefer that you leave it behind at “Beach Cottage”. The kitchen

The Toy cupboard
The toy cupboard is situated to your right of the fireplace. Tt is stocked with; Packs of Playing Cards Jigsaws Various games eg. Backgammon, Monopoly, a very old game of Lotto – Bingo to younger people! There is a pack of animals for a young child to play with. There is also a stack of CDs.These can be played on the Radio which is in the Double Bedroom. Televisions
There are two televisions, One is in the En-suite Bedroom (TV & DVD Combo) One is in the main Sitting Room. There are some DVD’s for you to use: Waking Ned – a film made on the Island Eight Below Pride and Prejudice 101 Dalmatians Finding Neverland Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets This list will be changed and added to from time to time. The boiler room
In the boiler room you will find: A vacuum cleaner A mop and bucket An iron & ironing board A bucket A wine rack A small ladder The water heater should you need more hot water The boiler for the central heating and its timer A washing line for drying clothes inside The back porch cupboard
In this cupboard you will find: A small portable barbeque, charcoal and barbeque tools Beach mats A parasol Two garden chairs A white beach chair On the back of the door you will find the cushions for the patio furniture |
